Project Overview

Bellefields is a Mediterranean restaurant and bar, spilling out onto a cobblestone courtyard, in the heart of Brixton. We were set the task of bring a sense of nostalgia and holiday fun to the notoriously grey city of London!

The beautiful typeface used for the logo is inspired by the Belle Époque period of the 1800s when the building was built, combined with a simple leaf motif from the oak tree that grows in the courtyard, positions the brand firmly within its surroundings. We then used colours and simple illustrations to give it its Mediterranean feel.

We worked with illustrator, Anna Kovecses, to create whimsical illustrations around the project and Ola Smit, our photographer, to generate sunny images of brightly coloured food to evoke the relaxed carefree feeling of holidays. No need to get on a plane again!
